One police officer among victims of mass disorders in Kordai district of Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - One police officer is among 8 killed in the mass disorders in Kordai district, Jambyl region of Kazakhstan on February 7, Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbaev said. Two police officers received gunshot wounds.
The local police department received a report on February 7 at 7.00 pm about around 70 participating in the brawl, he said.
Provocateurs and eyewitnesses of the conflict made video of the events and shared the videos in the social media. They called citizens for unlawful actions. 300 people from the neighboring villages arrived to the scene of the conflict then, the Interior Minister said.
"Hooligans threw stones into each other. The metal objects were used. They also used firearms," the Interior Minister said.
The conflict was then spread to Aukatty and Bulan Batyr villages.
Security checkpoints were set up around and at the entrance to the settlements.
