AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov and members of the working topographic group are holding meetings with population of border villages of Batken region. The meetings were held with residents of Chek-Dobo, Terekzar, Teskei villages of Batken district, the government's press service said.
The villagers were briefed about the progress of efforts of the government on delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and what meetings were held with the Tajik authorities.
The villagers were informed the border problems can be resolved through mutual exchange of equal land plots with Tajikistan. This would allow to abandon the current checkered order of arrangement of houses and territories of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Vice Prime Minister Razakov said the land exchange with Tajikistan will be decided exceptionally in the interests of Kyrgyzstan.
The topographic working groups of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are working on possible options of land swap between Batken district of Kyrgyzstan and Isfara town of Tajikistan in Samarkand and Kok-Tash border areas.
