U.S. Ambassador shares experience of Los Angeles in solving smog problem in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - The U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Donald Lu on February 4 during the presentation of the roadmap on dealing with the air pollution problem in Bishkek told about the experience of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles was a polluted city some years ago, but now it is a clean city, he said.
This is due to the technologies, laws and public education, the Ambassador noted.
In terms of emissions, there are the toughest laws in Los Angeles, according to him.
"All firms and power stations are equipped with fume cleaning technologies there," the diplomat said.
The Ambassador said that the U.S. wants to help Kyrgyzstan improve the air quality.
The American side is ready to send its leading specialists to Kyrgyzstan, Donald Lu said.
