Turkmenistan to plant 10 million trees in 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the decree on planting trees in Turkmenistan in 2020 on Jan 31. The decree provides for the implementation of a nationwide greening program in the country, primarily in terms of the country's environmental sustainability, the state media report.
According to the decree, ministries and sectoral departments, as well as Ashgabat Administration are assigned to plant 5 million seedlings of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes between the Ak Bugday and the Baherden districts of Ahal region.
Turkmen President also instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection to provide sufficient quantities of grape seedlings and three-year-old seedlings of trees, as well as to monitor their planting and growing.
