AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan Birzhan Nurymbetov told about the plans on increasing the minimum wage, Tengrinews.kz reported. At the session of the Mazhilis, MP Irina Smirnova said that the minimum wage in Kazakhstan is one of the most lowest in the former Soviet Union.
"Only Kyrgyzstan is after us. When and how will the issue of raising minimum wage be resolved?" she addressed the question to the government.
The Minister Nurymbetov said that the low wages of citizens is a reason for problems of both accumulative pension system and the targeted social assistance.
According to him, the government of Kazakhstan is ordered to gradually increase the minimum wage taking into consideration the budget costs.
