Lawmaker urges Prime Minister to evacuate Kazakhstanis from China

AKIPRESS.COM - Members of Nur Otan party of Mazhilis of Kazakhstan urged Prime Minister Askar Mamin to consider the issue of evacuation of Kazakh citizens staying not only in Wuhan, but also in other cities of China, where coronavirus infection cases are reported, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
Parliamentarian Kuralai Karaken while reading the request said that the international community is concerned of the difficult epidemiological situation in China.
As of January 29, the number of infected reached to 5,974 people, including 132 died, in China, she reminded.
The parliamentarian noted that the society is concerned of a real threat of spreading of the disease among the population of Kazakhstan, readiness of medical staff in case of detection of the coronavirus-infected patients, evacuation of students from the epicenter and other issues.
In addition, Karaken drew attention to the problem of spreading unreliable information on social media and messengers, which might spark panic among the population.
