UN Resident Coordinator meets Factcheck.kg editor-in-chief to discuss media freedom in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Resident Coordinator of the United Nations system in the Kyrgyz Republic Ozonnia Ojielo met with editor-i-chief of Factcheck.kg Bolot Temirov to discuss the state of media freedom in Kyrgyzstan, the UN said.
The UN Resident Coordinator stated that the UN member states are mandated to do all of their power to investigate, to prosecute all of those who try to impede journalists in performance of their job.
Factcheck.kg editor-in-chief Bolot Temirov was attacked on January 9 in daytime. He was beaten and his mobile phone was taken away.
The police detained 4 suspects on January 14.
