Final results of parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan announced

AKIPRESS.COM - Central Election Commission Vice Chairman Mahmud Istamov has declared the final results of the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan today.
The political parties have won the following seats in the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan:
1. Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan - 53 seats;
2. Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish - 36 seats;
3. Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan - 24 seats;
4. People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan - 22 seats;
5. Ecological Party of Uzbekistan - 15 seats.
The repeated voting was held at 1,730 polling stations in 25 constituencies, he said.
The voter list included 3,147,079 citizens, 1,978,048 of them voted repeatedly. This is 62.8% of voters, Mahmud Istamov said.
More than 5,000 observers of political parties and local self-government bodies monitored the repeated voting, he said.
The election of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan and local councils was held on December 22 in Uzbekistan.
Yesterday, the repeated voting was held in the constituencies where the candidates did not gain required amount of votes.
