Crashed plane did not catch fire due to weather conditions – Interior Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - Interior Minister of Kazakhstan Yerlan Turgumbaev told reporters the crashed Bek Air plane did not catch fire due to weather conditions, Tengrinews.kz reports. "Luckily, the left wing where the fuel tank was damaged, did not catch fire. A half of fuel poured under the plane. The plane did not burst into flame due to weather condition, winter, snow and cold air temperatures, this minimized the death toll," Tugumbaev said.
The Interior Minister called three versions why the plane crashed.
"The investigation group of the Interior Ministry is investigating the plane crash in Almaty. Three versions are investigated now. The first is mistake of the pilots. The second is possible technical malfunctions of the plane. The third is work of navigation services," the Interior Minister told reporters.
