4 TV channels fined for law violation

AKIPRESS.COM - 4 TV-channels were fined for violation of law on television and radiobroadcasting, said the Deputy Culture Minister Nurjigit Kadyrbekovat the press conference in Bishkek on Dec 27. The law came into force in 2017, which envisages at least half of the air of television channels should have content in the state language and at least 50% of the content should be of domestic production.
According to Kadyrbekov, UTS-Media and OOVA.TV channels were fined 20,000-30,000 soms.
"We imposed a fine on Media Selling Company and ‘NTS' LLC for inobservance of a law. Total of 59 regulations were sent and inspection is ongoing. We have to impose fines if out warnings and regulations will not be fulfilled," he said.
