Social benefits of 132 thousand Kazakhstanis to increase by 30% in 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - The social benefits of Kazakh citizens will increase by 30% in 2020, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Berdibek Saparbayev said during the press conference in the Government.
The amount of social benefits for loss of ability to work, loss of breadwinner and job loss will be increased for more than 132 thousand recipients by an average of 30%, he noted.
Moreover, in addition to recalculating from next year for recipients of social benefits for disability and loss of breadwinner, indexing of social benefits by 5% is also provided.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, within 11 months of the current year, the social payments amounted to 178.8 billion tenge.
As of Dec. 1, 2019, the compulsory social insurance system covers more than 6.3 million Kazakhstanis, which is more than 72% of the country's employed population.
