State Registration Service explains how citizens receive double PINs

AKIPRESS.COM - In 2015, the Interior Ministry launched a criminal case on illegal assignment of personal identification number, said the head of the registration department Muhabat Pratova on Dec 19. "The cases of illegal assignment of identification numbers are revealed daily due to the current system. There are cases when several identification numbers were assigned to one person," said Pratova and noted the identification numbers were issued by various agencies until 2016. According to the law, the personal identification number is issued by population registration department, in particular by the employees of Civil Registry Office," said Pratova.
"The majority of Kyrgyz migrants in Kazakhstan and Russia changed the identification numbers when they fell under the deportation," said Pratova.
