Money transfer limit to Kyrgyzstan imposed by Russia increased to 150,000 rubles per month

AKIPRESS.COM - Russia increased the limit for transfer of money to Kyrgyzstan from 100,000 rubles to 150,000 rubles per individual per month, the government said.
Kyrgyz government raised the problem with the limit on the money transfer size, and the matter was considered by the EAEU PMs at the Eurasian Government Council session in late October 2019.
In April 2019, Russian Central Bank limited the size of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan to up to 100,000 rubles per individual per month in a move reported to be aimed to fight against shadow operations such as unregistered business activities. The limit for Kazakhstan was 150,000 rubles per month.
The limit was widely criticized by Kyrgyzstanis who called the restriction a violation of main principles of the Eurasian Economic Union.
