MP demands authorities to look into DDoS attacks on websites that posted journalist investigation

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Dastan Bekeshev requests the General Prosecutor's Office and the Interior Ministry to investigate DDoS attacks on a number of Internet websites that posted the journalist investigation.
"The Factcheck.kg website was DDoS attacked 2 hours after posting [about wealth of ex-Deputy Customs Service Chairman Raimbek Matraimov's wife and son]. Other websites that reposted the investigation were also attacked," he said.
He said the Kyrgyz law envisages punishment for DDoS attacks.
He questioned the capabilities of Kyrgyz authorities to ensure cyber security in Kyrgyzstan. "You can ask help from other nations in this matter," he said.
The MP demanded to raise the problem of crime against information security at the parliament committee on law and order.
