Over half of fines paid within Safe City project

AKIPRESS.COM - 887,454 traffic violation tickets were issued from March 4 to Dec 8 within the implementation of the Safe City project. 53% of tickets were paid, in particular 469,783 tickets for over 557.1 million soms.
A number of traffic accidents has decreased on the areas where Safe City cameras were installed, said road police.
The road traffic accidents decreased by 40% in Bishkek and the number of injured reduced by 38.3%, the traffic accidents decreased by 50% in Chui region, one the person died, the number of injured dropped by 50%.
The road police conducts awareness raising campaigns to prevent road traffic accidents and calls on the drivers to obey the traffic laws.
