Smog issue concerns each resident of Bishkek - MP

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Almazbek Ergeshov (Kyrgyzstan) at the session of the Parliament on December 12 said that smog issue concerns all residents of Bishkek today. According to him, air pollution is worsening allergic and other health problems of people.
The check of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry revealed that air pollution in the capital has exceeded twice the norm.
"I think that smog comes mainly from the Bishkek CHPP, which heats the houses by burning coal and private residences that also use coal for heating," he said.
The parliamentarian also noted that Gazprom is gasifying the private residences. But connection to the gas costs up to 50,000 som, which is expensive for residents, he added.
Ergeshov proposed the gas company to review the cotracts, consider the opportunity to connect to gas by installments.
