Lawmaker offers to impose taxes for foreign workers in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - A Parliament member Berik Dyusembiyev urges the government to pay attention to the statistics of unemployment and take into the consideration a number of labor migrants in Kazakhstan, Zakon.kz reports. In this regard, the lawmaker proposed to take measures for migration process management, including imposing of taxes for migrant workers.
Dyusembiyev noted that there are 2,396 plants in Kazakhstan that attract foreign employers according to official reports. However, the difference between the official reports and the real number of labor migrants in the country is big, he said.
The Migration service of the country says 551,000 labor migrants from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan arrived in Kazakhstan in 2018.
The parliamentarian offered the Ministry of Labor to reduce quota for attraction of foreign workers for the next year.
