‘Any form of violence is grievous crime, we are against this’ Vice PM Omurbekova

AKIPRESS.COM - "We are against any form of violence," Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan said at the charity run "We are a generation of equality" held as part of the 16-day campaign against the gender violence, the press service of the government said. Omurbekova called on everyone, in particular, youth to support this campaign and fight against such kinds of crimes.
She said that the 16 days against violence campaign marked in the world unites the government, those faced violence, activists and the communities in the efforts of eliminating violence against women and girls.
Kyrgyzstan as a member of various conventions on discrimination against women is one of the first in the CIS countries adopted a law on social and legal protection against violence in the family.
