Woman detained after she tried to smuggle over 1 kg of jewelry in grandson’s diaper

AKIPRESS.COM - The Uzbek customs officers detained an elderly woman on the Gishtkuprik customs checkpoint on the Uzbek-Kazakh border. The woman attempted to smuggle jewelery (6 necklaces, 4 bracelets, 1 ring) in the diaper worn by her 2-year-old grandson, the State Committee Service of Uzbekistan said.
The total weight of undeclared jewelery made 1.115 kg and is estimated at more than $35,000.
