Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan to build bridge on border, modernize infrastructure

AKIPRESS.COM - During the state visit of President of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan, the governments of the two countries signed an agreement on a joint construction of the new bridge and reconstruction of the existing bridge between Karasu - Road checkpoint of Kazakhstan and Ak-Tilek - Road checkpoint of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan said.
The project will start in 2020 with development of the construction documentation for restoration of the bridge through the Chu River, which is in northern Kyrgyzstan and southern Kazakhstan.
The project will include restoration of transport infrastructure at Karasu checkpoint, repair of roads and sidewalks.
Modernization is planned to be finished in 2021.
