'Price for meat is growing and no one can say why' — Nazarbayeva on rise of prices for food

AKIPRESS.COM - Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva during the discussion of the state budget raised the issue of increasing prices for food in the country, NUR.KZ reports. "The price for meat is growing, although it is a historical culture, meat is our everything. No one can still say why the meat price is rising," Nazarbayeva noted.
MP Dauren Adilbekov said it might be connected to the growth of excise duty for petroleum by 10 tenge. The growth of excise duty for gasoline might negatively affect the other prices, he noted.
Minister of National Economy Ruslan Dalenov said that the rise of excise duty for petroleum and tariffs could not significantly affect the cost of goods and services in the country.
Chief of the National Bank Erbolat Dosayev said that decrease of prices for fuel products this year led to a slight reduction of prices by 4.6%, which helped keep the inflation as it was expected.
Dosayev held talks with the Prime Minister Askar mamin on the growth of prices for food.
