Minister of Education of Kazakhstan proposes to ban outdoor toilets in schools

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov during the session on protection of rights of children offered to close the outdoor toilets in schools of the country, Kazinform reported. There are 2,352 schools in Kazakhstan with outdoor toilets. The most of them are in Turkestan region - 60%, in Almaty region - 54.6%, in West Kazakhstan region - 44%, in Kyzylorda region and East Kazakhstan region - 43%. In this regard, the Minister proposed to consider the requirements for educational institutions.
The issue of outdoor toilets was raised after the recent incident occurred in one of the school toilets in Taraz town. The schoolgirl was raped by an unknown when she went out to the outdoor toilet during the lesson.
