AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Interior Minister Mirlan Kanimetov explained why the patrol police officers were unable to arrest the knife attacker immediately.
"They don't have enough experience and practice," he said. The patrol police service has just recently been introduced.
"The employees came to service via competition. They simply lack experience," Kanimetov said.
Additional physical training will be held for them, he said.
The 27-year-old ma attacked the passengers of the trolleybus in Bishkek on November 20. No injuries were reported. After the driver cried for help, the patrol police officers tried to detain him, but he attempted to flee.
During the detention, the suspect resisted to police and 1 officer was hurt.
Deputy Interior Minister Almaz Orozaliyev was on the spot and helped detain the man.
