AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakh authorities plan to introduce toll road projects in the country in two stages, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan said.
The first stage foresees launch of around 6,000 km toll roads from 2020 to 2021. This will include sections of West Europe-West China international transit corridor, Nur-Sultan-Kostanai-Russian border, Schuchinsk-Petropavlovsk, Nur-Sultan-Pavlodar, Kalbatau-Pavlodar-Russian border, Taskesken-Bahty, Kapshagai-Taldykorgan, Atyrau-Uralsk, Atyrau-Dossor-Beineu-Akjigit-Uzbek border, Aktau-Beineu.
The second stage will be carried out from 2022 through 2023 when the remaining 5,000 toll roads will be launched.
By 2024, the country plans to have around 11,000 km of toll road network.
The investment competitions were announced for those road sections for introduction and maintenance of the toll system.
