Senates of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan sign cooperation agreement for 2019-2020

AKIPRESS.COM - Speaker of the Senate of Kazakh Parliament Dariga Nazarbayeva met with Chairwoman of the Senate of Uzbek Parliament Tanzila Narbayeva, who arrived in Kazakhstan on official visit, the Senate of Kazakhstan reported. The sides praised bilateral relations between the countries at the meeting.
Nazarbayeva underlined that Uzbekistan is an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Central Asia.
The Speaker called on to continue the pace of bilateral trade, which amounted to $2.5 billion in 2018.
There are serious plans in cooperation of the countries in investment, energy, tourism and border spheres, she noted.
The talks also addressed the implementation of programs on exchange of experience in the legal support of reforms and social and economic development.
Upon conclusion of the meeting, the sides signed a joint road map on development of cooperation between the Senates of the two countries for 2019-2020.
