International book exhibition opens in Ashgabat

AKIPRESS.COM - The international book fair and the scientific conference "Book-the way to cooperation and progress", organized by the Turkmen state publishing service together with the chamber of Commerce and industry of the country, opened in Ashgabat today, Turkmenportal reports.
The book forum is attended by representatives of more than 70 large companies from 20 countries. Prominent cultural scientists, specialists in the field of printing, literary critics and writers were also invited. The exhibition program includes creative meetings, poetry readings, presentations of new publications, etc.
The expanded exposition introduces "Novelties" in the publishing sphere-fiction, popular science and educational literature, mainly prepared for ten months of the current year. The pavilions of our country, where samples of book production are presented, have become the most voluminous in terms of the number of exhibits.
Among them - dozens of titles of fiction. The stands are brightly illustrated editions of "Turkmen folk tales", including translated into eight languages - Russian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, German and French.
