New industrial zone in Shymkent will bring billions of tenge for state budget - authorities

AKIPRESS.COM - Creation of the new industrial zone Zhyldyz has been discussed in Shymkent administration, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
A total of 20 projects worth 20 billion tenge ($51.4 million) are planned to be implemented in 2021-2023. This will help create about 1,000 new jobs, executive director of the department of enterpreneurs and industrial-innovation development of Shymkent Bereke Duisebekov reported.
Since creation of the industrial zone in Shymkent, the government received almost 11 billion tenge ($28.2 million). In 2019, the participants of another industrial zone Ontustuk paid 1.3 billion tenge taxes. Participants of the third industrial zone Tassai contributed about 97 million tenge.
The industrial zone is an industrial territory, where energy and transport sources are located. The territory is designed for construction of industrial, logistics plants. The industrial zones also consist of administrative, service and educational centers.
A total of 22 industrial zones operate in Kazakhstan. Most of them (7) are in Turkestan region.
