Mongolia seeks to celebrate 800th anniversary of Karakorum

AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Prime Minister of Mongolia Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin, who is on working visit in Kazakhstan, told about the projects concerning the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Karakorum and shared his views on study of the history of the Golden Horde, Kazinform reports. According to him, the historical ties of Kazakh and Mongolian peoples are common. They are closely intersect with each other, he noted.
"Therefore, I think that our relations should strengthen further. Ancestors of Genghis Khan lived on the Kazakh land, we know that the mausoleum of his first son Jochi Khan is located here in Kazakhstan. In this regard, our country completely supports the works carried out by Kazakhstan on a large scale celebration of the 750th anniversary of the Golden Horde and preserving historical monument of and our common civilization, attraction of tourists," he said at the roundtable discussion of the International Turkic Academyin Nur-Sultan.
Mongolia plans to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Karakorum in August 2020, he noted.
