AKIPRESS.COM - Speaker of the Kazakh Parliament's Senate Dariga Nazarbayeva at the meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev touched the issue of supplying Kazakh coal to Ukraine, the Senate reported. Nazarbayeva explained the situation of the Kazakh coal supply to Russia and Ukraine. According to her, sanctions imposed by Russia for export of cargos from Russia to Ukraine closed the access for Kazakhstani companies to the Ukrainian market on the first hand, and reduced trade with Russia on the other hand.
"There are no other markets for Kazakhstani coal," she said.
By doing so, the Russian measures are making Kazakh coal companies close to the shutdown, Nazarbayeva noted.
Medvedev, in his turn, said that he gave certain instructions on a positive resolution of this issue.
Among other issues, the two considered the legal support of movement and stay of citizens of Kazakhstan on the territory of Kazakhstan, change of status of border checkpoints, creation of a common environmental code, water resourse distribution and others.
"All common problems should be resolved on a mutually beneficial terms," Medvedev said.
