Supporters of ex-employee of 9th Service of National Security Committee gather for rally in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - Relatives of Kanat Sagymbayev, an ex-employee of the 9th Service of the National Security Committee (State Security Service), gathered in Gorky Square in Bishkek October 19 for peaceful rally. About 50 people came to express their support for Sagymbayev, who is being held in pre-trial detention center-1, on various charges.
Sagymbaev's younger brother Marat Raimbek uulu told AKIpress that they demand a fair trial in his brother's case. Sagymbayev was former President Almazbek Atambayev's bodyguard.
"He is suspected of mass riots and beating up SWAT troops, but it's not true, on the contrary, he helped them," Marat said.
Atambayev's supporters are also present at the peaceful rally.
