Lawmaker outraged over poor work of state bodies with religious organizations

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Mahabat Mavlyanova (Respublika - Ata-Jurt party) during the Parliament session pointed to a poor work of state bodies in the work with religious organizations. According to her, Kyrgyzstan fails to ban such religious organizations as Tablighi Jamaat and Jehovah witnesses that are banned in Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan.
The State Commission for Religious Affairs Director Zaiyrbek Ergeshov noted that all other religious organizations are prohibited in Kyrgyzstan.
Mavlyanova underlined the negative influence of these organizations in the society.
Deputy Minister of Interior Mirlan Kanimetov said that the Interior Ministry has the 10th service, which monitors such organizations.
"Based on the results of analysis, the service decides the issue of prohibition of activities of organizations," Kanimetov noted.
