Tourism to account for 7% of GDP by 2023 or $600m

AKIPRESS.COM - Tourism will become one of the key sectors of the Kyrgyz economy accounting for 7% of GDP by 2023 or $600m, said Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev at the opening of the International Franchise and Trade Expo within the Bishkek Investment Forum on Oct 10.
Visa-free stay will be introduced for citizens of 60 countries, he said.
Government announced open sky policy aimed at making Kyrgyzstan a transit center for doing business, he said.
Activities of the newly established state enterprise Kyrgyz Tourism is aimed at attraction of investments and implementation of PPP projects for the construction and modernization of tourism infrastructure.
