3 killed as driver tried to cross river on a bridge meant for pedestrians

AKIPRESS.COM - Driver of the Honda Fit tried to cross the river in Mailuu-Suu town on a pedestrian bridge, town hall confirmed.
The bridge over the river there was built back in the Soviet times for pedestrians. However, locals often crossed the river on this bridge on small cars.
The accident occurred on the night of Oct 3-4 at 4 am. All the 3 persons inside the car died of injuries they received when the car crashed into the river. The car was discovered on the morning by shepherds.
One of the victims was a serviceman at the Mailuuu-Suu military unit.
