China imports 250 billion cubic meters of gas from Turkmenistan: Ambassador

"On the one hand, the Chinese-Turkmen gas cooperation provides a long-term and stable source of natural gas for China, on the other hand, it has opened a new way to diversify gas export routes, which has become an important source of foreign exchange earnings for Turkmenistan and significantly contributed to its socio - economic progress," Sun Weidong said.
According to the Ambassador, the Chinese side is ready to make joint efforts with the Turkmen side to expand and develop bilateral energy cooperation, jointly ensure the safe and stable operation of the Turkmenistan - China gas pipeline, actively discuss cooperation in the fields of gas processing, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, etc., as well as to promote the consistent development of energy cooperation between China and Turkmenistan.
