Farid Niyazov gets his arrest extended until December 9

AKIPRESS.COM - The arrests of ex-Chief of Staff of President's Office Farid Niyazov and other close associates of former President Almazbek Atambayev were upheld by the Pervomai district court.
Farid Niyazov, Amantur Jamgyrchiev, Karypbek uulu Ryspek, Marat Shamenov were placed in detention center-1 until December 9. Lawyers Farhad Baabiyev and Alga Kilichov were not present at the trial, which was postponed for October 1.
The detainees are accused of hostage-taking and organization of mass riots.
The National Security Committee special forces attempted to storm Atambayev's house in Koi-Tash village outside Bishkek on August 7. The special forces were supposed to bring Atambayev to the Interior Ministry for questioning. However, as a result of the clashes with Atambayev's supporters, 6 special forces officers were taken hostage and 1 special forces officer was killed. The hostages were released the next day.
