Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey should be increased up to $1 bln – Jeenbekov

Bishkek, Sept.24, 2019. /Kabar/. More than $ 93 million was raised from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan in 2018, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Forum.
He noted the volume of direct investments from Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, attracted during the years of independence, amounted to more than $ 600 million.
"At the same time, we can state that the economic potential of the two countries is not being used to the fullest extent. Mr. Erdoğan (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey) and I discussed the possibilities of increasing the trade turnover between our countries from $400 million to $1 billion in the coming years," he said.
In addition, the head of state noted that today there is a particularly trusting relationship with Turkey.
"As a result, Kyrgyz-Turkish trade and economic relations are developing at a good pace. Investment cooperation between the two countries is developing progressively," he added.
