President Tokayev orders to build bridge on Bukhtarma Reservoir

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered the government and the administration of East Kazakhstan region to consider the issue of financing construction of a bridge on Bukhtarma Water Reservoir, the head of state said on Twitter.
"The Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper raised the issue concerning more than 20,000 residents of Kurchum district of the region. People use a float-boat built 50 years ago, to pass the reservoir" he noted.
The newspaper reported that the problem aggravated in early August, when one of the two float-boats broke down. People had to wait for their turns to pass the water for 4-5 hours. Governor of the region Danil Akhmetov after visiting the site said that construction of the bridge there will cost 24 billion tenge. He said that the region can not resolve this issue without the government's help.
