AKIPRESS.COM - Requirements of the law on compulsory medical examination of those detained in prisons are followed not in all cases as in previous years, Director of the National Torture Center Nurdin Sulaimanov said at the meeting of the Parliament on September 18. According to him, one of the most important tasks of a medical worker is conducting a thorough medical examination of those taken into custody for signs of physical violation or phsycological effects.
He said that 6% of respondents in detention centers claimed that they were examined by medical workers during prevention visits.
During the special visit to detention center of the Kara-Kul police department, employees of the Center found out that 4 people were put in prison without medical examination on June 11, 2018, Sulaimanov said.
