Ex-MP Kadyrzhan Batyrov's resort in Jalal-Abad nationalized

AKIPRESS.COM - A resort belonging to former member of the Kyrgyz Parliament Kadyrzhan Batyrov has been handed over to the National Security Committee, Turmush reported. The order was signed on May 30, 2019 by the State Property Management Fund.
The resort with the territory of 4.80 hectares is located in the village of Arstanbap of Bazar-Korgon district.
Managers of the state enterprise "Eldik" said that some works were planned in the resort this year. But they were stopped after order on handover was signed.
In 2016, the resort was converted into a kindergarten and was admitting children during summer holidays. The raised funds hardly covered the costs for repair works. Salaries of workers were paid by the enterprise.
In June 2016, Eldik allocated 300,000 som for repair works in the resort. The resort have been operating over the past years receiving tourists.
Meanwhile, sources in Turmush reported that local businessmen and some MPs were interested in this resort. Then a court decided to confiscate the property belonging to Batyrov and his wife.
The government of the country issued an order to nationalize the resort. The state enterprise Eldik was formed for management of nationalized properties.
The Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan sentenced Batyrov to life in prison in absentia for inciting to ethnic hatred and organization of mass riots in 2010 in the south Kyrgyzstan. He fled Kyrgyzstan the same year and received political asylum in Sweden.
Batyrov died in his sleep at the age of 62 on the night of December 4, 2018 in Odessa, Ukraine. He was buried on December 8 in Tashkent region.
