"Kazakhstan should become one of leaders on finished oil products trading" - Tokayev

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the ceremony on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the oil sector said Kazakhstan should become one of the leaders on trading finished oil products, Akorda reported.
Speaking at the event, he outlined the priority tasks to be done in the oil sector.
According to the strategic development plan, oil production should exceed 100 million tons a year, while gas - 77 billion cubic meters a year by 2025, he said.
Among the key tasks introduction of innovations, increasing ecological compatibility of the process and further processing of the raw materials were named.
Tokayev said the plan also implies annual sustainable GDP growth at the rate of 5% and higher by 2025.
"In achievement of these goals, oil sector of the country will play a great role," he concluded.
