Samarkand authorities confirm mass poisoning of stray dogs

AKIPRESS.COM - Samarkand city administration confirmed the massive poisoning of stray dogs. The poisoning was carried out by a special working group, CA-News reports. The decision to kill the stray animals was made after increase of attacks on people.
The dogs were given poison baits.
From August 28-31, the working group visited 2,905 households of Samarkand and registered 1,003 dogs who have owners. 262 were vaccinated against rabies. The rest dogs were vaccinated earlier this year.
The online edition Repost posted a video of the organized poisoning of dogs in Samarkand. It reported that unidentified individuals threw sausages with rat poison under doors of houses on August 29.
