CIS Council of Heads of Statistical Services to be held in Bishkek

Bishkek, Sept.4, 2019 /Kabar/. The 60th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS member states will discuss a whole package of issues in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, the meeting participants will discuss such issues as:
- CIS Population Census 2020: Current situation;
- The role and place of national statistical services of CIS countries in the information space on the life of people with disabilities;
- Work on the implementation of the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics in the CIS region;
- Creation of digital data ecosystem in the Russian Federation;
- On the draft Work Programme of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee for 2020;
- On the work of the CIS Statistical Committee on the organization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators monitoring in the CIS region;
- Report on the activities of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS member states in 2018;
- Report on the work of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee in 2018;
The Council of Heads of Statistical Services of member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States was established on Feb. 6, 1992, by CIS Heads of National Statistical.
The Council is composed of heads of 10 national statistical services of the states as its authorized members, as well as Chairman of the CIS Statistical Committee.
Akylbek Sultanov serves as the Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistics Committee since 2016.
