Egypt might import Kazakhstan's meat

AKIPRESS.COM - As part of the Second General Assembly of Islamic Organization for Food Security, which was held in Jeddah, Minister pf Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov held talks with Minister of Agriculture of Egupt Ezz El Din Abu Steit, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture said. Omarov stressed that Egypt is the main trade parter of Kazakhstan in the African continent.
During the talks, the sides noted the need to resume supplies of Kazakhstani wheat to Egypt as in the period of 2007-2010.
The Egyptian side expressed interest in seasonal supplies of potato, pomegranate, exotic fruits to Kazakhstan and import of Kazakhstan's sheep and meat to Egypt. The Egyptian side said its ready to start negotiations with veterninary and phytosanitary services of Kazakhstan on agreement of requirements on the named products.
