IsDB to provide $10 mln for Meat Halal Park in Kyrgyzstan project implementation

Bishkek, Sept.2, 2019. /Kabar/. The Parliament’s Budget and Finance Committee approved a draft law on the implementation of the Meat Halal Park in the Kyrgyz Republic project.
Economy Minister Sanjar Mukanbetov noted this draft law has been developed at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy as part of the implementation of the Concept of Halal Industry Development in the Kyrgyz Republic.
296 meat processing enterprises are officially registered and functioning in the country, 90% of which are mini-enterprises of small capacity.
"It is necessary to create or modernize existing slaughterhouses and bring them in line with international standards. In this direction, the ministry has reached an agreement with the IsDB group on joint development of a feasibility study of the project on construction of a modern meat halal park," the minister added.
Thus, the IsDB will allocate USD 380 thousand for the feasibility study, the contribution of the Kyrgyz side make USD 50 thousand.
Note that, the IsDB is ready to provide USD 10 million within the framework of the Meat Halal Park in the Kyrgyz Republic project.
