Chinese Consulate General in Osh temporarily suspends its work, ambassador

Bishkek, Aug.28, 2019. /Kabar/. The Consulate General of China in Osh temporarily suspends its work. This became known at the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurlan Adrakhmanov and Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen.
The Kyrgyz foreign Ministry’s press service reported that, during the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of good-neighborly and friendly relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, as well as with the high dynamics of mutually beneficial cooperation, and discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations.
Abdrakhmanov stressed that the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the agreements, reached during the successful state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kyrgyzstan on June 12-14, 2019 and is ready to make every effort to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Ambassador Dewen said within the framework of the ongoing work to optimize the activities of Chinese diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, the Chinese side temporarily suspends the functioning of the Consulate General in Osh from Aug.28, 2019.
Consular services will be provided by the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek during the suspension of the Consulate General in Osh.
The sides also focused on the implementation of Chinese grant projects implemented within the framework of technical and economic assistance to Kyrgyzstan.
At the same time, the deputy minister stressed the implementation of joint projects with the Chinese side is of great social and economic importance for the Kyrgyz Republic.
