Dushanbe discusses inclusion of Tajikistan's regions into UNESCO Geoparks

AKIPRESS.COM - The Conference entitled "UNESCO Geoparks: Potential Regions of Tajikistan as Possible Nominations" was held at the National Library of Tajikistan on August 16-17. The Conference was organized by the initiative of Tajikistan National Commission for UNESCO with support of UNESCO, the Foreign Ministry reports.
The event was officially introduced by the Chairman of Tajikistan National Commission for UNESCO Mr. Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda. The main objective of the conference was to comprehensively discuss the concept of UNESCO world Geoparks and their activity and purpose. In addition, participants exchanged views on Tajikistan's potential sights to be included on the list of "UNESCO Geoparks".
