Kazakhstan, UN discuss anti-extremism project

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador at Large of Kazakhstan Stanislav Vassilenko and representatives of the UN delegation discussed implementation of the Strengthening Resilience to Violence and Extremism (STRIVE) project in the city of Nur-Sultan, the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan reports.
The meeting was held on August 19.
The project is aimed at introduction of contribution to prevention and fighting violent extremism in Central, South and South-East of Asia by multiple approaches of governments, security services, civil society, scientific circles and mass media within the nearest 4 years.
According to the project authors, spread of a violent extremism over the last years poses a serious threat to the efforts of the international community in terms of peace and security.
