Flood threat in Almaty: Evacuation canceled

AKIPRESS.COM - Amid the flood threat in Almaty, authorities had warned of evacuation of residents. But it was canceled, Tengrinews.kz reports. The situation has been normalized. Water level is slowing down.
"Evacuation is canceled. Water went down," spokesman of governor of Almaty mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev Aset Mukazhanov said.
Residents of Almaty on August 14 started spreading messages about flooding threat. Authorities warned the people to be ready for evacuation.
Later, the mayor"s office of the city confirmed the threat.
Mudflow occurred in Nauryzbay district in small volume. Resquers were preparing for the emergency.
At a moment, all emergency services are working at the site.
