Interior Ministry confirms detention of ex-President Atambayev

AKIPRESS.COM - The Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed Atambayev was detained by police and the national security agency for questioning. The Interior Ministry reported no casualties during detention.
The special operation was led by Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Kashkar Junushaliyev.
Atambayev will be brought to the respective bodies for investigation in line with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Interior Ministry said.
