National Security Committee accuses Atambayev's supporters of using women and children as human shields

AKIPRESS.COM - The National Security Committee accused Almazbek Atambayev's supporters of using women and children as human shields during the clashes in Koi-Tash village on August 7.
SWAT soldiers used rubber bullets and special means during the special operation to arrest Atambayev, the National Security Committee said commenting on Farid Niyazov's statements.
"SWAT soldiers received live ammunition from Atambaev's house as evidenced by the wounds they received. One of the SWAT soldiers died in hospital. Thirdly, the reports that the soldiers taken hostage by their own colleagues are not true. These soldiers taken hostage were beaten up with particular cruelty," the statement said.
Niyazov's statement, as the GKNB said, can be regarded as the attempt to blame law enforcers for the death of SWAT soldier.
